West Central Baptist Association Collin's Corner

The theme for the 2010 Missouri State Evangelism Conference will be held at the First Baptist Church of Branson MO on January 25-26. There are also to be other Evangelism Conferences throughout the early part of 2010. The February 9th Evangelism Conference will be held at Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church, St. Joseph. February 23 the conference will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Hannibal, and on March 9 the conference will gather at the Miner Baptist Church, in Sikeston. There will also be Hispanic/Multicultural Conference January 25-26 at the Keeter Center at the College of the Ozarks, Branson. Joshua del Risco and Jeremy Sin are the guest speakers for this conference. If you are not planning to go to Branson, I would be more than interested in eating lunch with a group of pastors & staff at Fredrick Boulevard Baptist Church on February 9th. If you are planning to go let me know, I’ll buy you lunch!

This will be an interesting year for our state Evangelism Efforts. “God’s Plan for Sharing” an effort 2010-2020, to share the gospel with everyone in the United States. If you have not read the book, I will loan my copy to you. This is why we are here! Should you and your church need help with evangelism or teaching this the associational office has training modules to be loaned out to the churches. Check out the new media-catalog online.

At the State Convention in October we voted to be a part of a partnership with counties in Illinois. One of the Associations we can connect with is Dr. Mark Inman, Associational Missionary, Fox Valley Baptist Association, P.O. Box 5778, Elgin, Il. 6012. E-mail is marki@fxvba.org. I printed out some of their information and they are asking for teams to come work and minister in their area this next summer 2010.

I have not been staying away from your church on purpose! I have been preaching every other Sunday since September. It has been my privilege to preach, and baptize (5) at Haven of Hope Church in Blairstown, preach for Magnolia Church while their pastor was deer hunting, preach the ordination sermon at Corinth Church last week. I filled the pulpit for Calhoun Church and listened as the church voted unanimously to call Jordan Hodges as their new pastor, November 22 and enjoyed Thanksgiving Dinner with that congregation.
