Calvary Baptist Odessa, had a Super Bowl Party, February 7, and a “A Walk With Christ To the Cross” event February 19-20. The church is sponsoring, a Beth Moore Event, “ So Long, Insecurity” a simulcast at the church, tickets are $20.00-$25.00 with lunch. Contact the church for more information, 816-633-5563.

FBC Clinton’s Baptist Men, led in the morning worship service, February 21. Pastor Randy Shipman and wife Terrie led relationship lesson during the churches “Bring Your Love to Lunch,” event. The church is planning to go on a mission trip to Canada and are gathering items to take to Jamaica for later this year.
Enon Baptist will be having a Men’s Campout/fishing event April 30-May 1. Their youth will be in charge of the morning service May 30. They will be have a children’s fishing derby in June, and celebrating their 142 Anniversary July 25. Their VBS is scheduled for July 25-30.

Forest Grove recently called Phil Scott as their new pastor. He comes from Broadway Baptist, Oak Grove. Welcome, Phil and his wife Suzie, to West Central Baptist Association.

Friendship ordained Bryan Hornsby and Greg Ballowe to the gospel ministry, February 28. They will be hosting a FAITHRider Rally Friday night, April 30, May 1 and May 2. Tent or sleeping bag camping, two great rides (one to BBQ and the other to Charlie’s), a pancake breakfast, fellowship, a breakout with “Three minutes story” training in preparation for Sturgis 2010. Buddy Newsome, National FAITHRider director will be speaking. More information will be coming soon. You are welcome to attend any or all parts of the event.

FBC Higginsville recently connected a Concert with Phil & Pam Morgan and a celebration of five years of service as Music & Education Minister for Dennis Million. This was quite a surprise for Dennis, Brenda and I were having lunch one day and two members of their church told me about the surprise and we enjoyed the concert and the surprise. It is always good to know of these things and for us to share in these events with the churches. James and Jane Thompson, IMB missionaries shared on Wednesday night February 10.

FBC Holden pastor Lindy Reed recently sent me this good information to us men! Romance is rekindled when you say, “I love you”: *Begin each day with an affectionate hug & kiss. *Surprise your mate by doing a chore your sweetie absolutely dreads. * Open doors for your wife and teach your son to do the same. *Men, keep your darlings vehicle washed and clean. *Phone your mate and tell her/him “I love you” or “I miss you.” *Always remember special dates: birthdays, anniversaries, Valentines Day! *Spend time sharing a special activity, hobby, or sport your spouse enjoys. Grover Park enjoyed Phil and Pam Morgan in concert, during their Fifth Sunday Sing, it was followed by Finger Food Fellowship on January 31. On February 14 the church started having two morning worship services. The early service will be at 8:15, followed by Sunday School and the late worship service at 10:45. The church held it’s Mission Festival on February 26. They are sponsoring a ‘March for Jesus in Warrensburg’ Prayerwalking event each Saturday in March, and a ladies retreat May 21-23. contact the church for more information, 660-747-7196. Kingsville Baptist recently had the Building Dedication Service of the their new building. They will be celebrating their 150th Anniversary Sunday afternoon, March 7, at 2:00 pm. Northeast Baptist observed their annual “I Love my Church” banquet on Feb. 14. They also had a “Family Fun Night on Feb. 26.

FBC Windsor is planning their Easter musical program for celebrating “Resurrection Sunday.” The ladies in the church started the study of “Esther” in February. Calvary Baptist Church , Odessa has called Gary VanLanker as Minister of Youth. He is married to Heather. Their oldest daughter Hanna is in 7th grade at Odessa Middle School, Younger daughter Allison in in 1st grade. Please pray for Kathy Neil as she has back surgery on January 5th. She will be recovering 4-6 weeks.
